I am Gayan de Muynck.

After studying graphic design I started Serious Design in 2002. Back then, for me it was all about being serious about the less serious things in life. This meant making murals, taking pictures and my graphic design.

Although this never stopped, gradually product design became my main activity, working mostly in accessories and bag design.

What I enjoy most is developing complete collections: from concept through to final item. This means I can do the product design, as well as the graphics and when required, guide the production.

G-Star commissioned me to paint their logo on two curtains made of folded denim. Used for the opening of their new shop in the Pc hooftstraat Amsterdam. Curtain sizes 25×7m and 20X7m.

The City of Rotterdam commissioned me to paint a graffiti in the new train station “station Blijdorp”. The station is the last project of architect Maarten Struijs because of his pention. This is why the graffiti is a present for him. The 010 Crews is a graffiti painted bij me but ment to be a greeting from all the graffiti crews of Rotterdam to the people who enter Rotterdam though the new station. Station and piece are planned to be opened around June 2010. Keep you posted. Size 6X2.20m

The Nile Dutch Kwanza is painted by 35 artiest. Coming from a graffiti and illustration background. Theme of painting was Noah’s Ark. We worked on the painting in the harbours of Antwerp, Rouen and Lisabon during the loading and unloading of the ship. What a trip to remember!

Design and execution of a fitting mural painting on sport centre Groenewoud Kapelle. CMYK is an abstract mural done with primary colors and typography with a clear link to graffiti. From great distance the letters are quite easy to read but when you get close the big simple shapes make the painting more abstract. Size 20X4m
